Latin Dance

The solo dance class is partner-less dancing similar to line dancing with some differences. This dancing class is mostly Latin American with dances such as Cha ChaCha, Bachata or Salsa for example, but we have covered many different styles, over 20 different styles of dances with a wide range of rhythms from Charleston to Flamenco.
Unlike with traditional line dancing the routines will nearly always face the same direction which makes them easier to learn by copying the instructor. In most line dancing the routines are “4 walls” which means each time the routine is repeated its commenced facing a different wall or direction, this can be confusing to many dances on the directions of the dance steps but also it means people needing to copy won’t have anyone in front to view when the routine turns around.

While the Solo dance class is not a fitness class like Zumba or Fitsteps, it is still great exercise but has the benefit of learning the dance steps technique clearly and thoroughly. In a fitness class technique is not a priority because its important to constantly keep moving to break a sweat, obviously if a teacher has to stop and explain anything the exercise has paused.

The solo dance class is complimentary to partner dance classes as the choreography involves steps of actual dance moves used in partner dancing rather than fitness versions of dance steps.
